Computer Support Services in the Torpoint, Plymouth & Rame Area
Firstly let me say that I will always try to talk in Plain English with no jargon. My aim is to inform, educate and advise my home users, not confuse them!
Home users just like you have computer questions and issues which need resolving. Some need advice on what they should buy (e.g. new PCs, scanners, printers, external hard disks). Others require assistance setting up their home broadband and wireless networks. Some need help setting up their new PC or other hardware such as scanners, printers, external hard disks and digital cameras. Perhaps you simply need to set-up your new email account on your PC and don’t know where to begin? If you’re stuck with anything to do with your home PC, I can provide a professional and courteous service to help you to get the best out of your PC.

Broadband, Internet, Wireless & Networking
I can help set up your Broadband Internet for you as well as a home wireless network. I partner with my favourite broadband providers, PlusNet, TalkTalk or your choice of provider to help get your broadband connection sorted. I have extensive experience of setting up Broadband routers as well as wireless and cabled networks for homes.
My Computer is Running Slowly or Not Starting at all
If your PC is running very slowly (or worse not starting up at all) then I offer a check-up and diagnosis service to determine the reasons and correct any problems. The cause is often the installation of additional software over the years and this “software spaghetti” can usually be cleaned up significantly without removing valuable programs or having to re-install the computer software from scratch. I help ensure that everything is ok and provide you with faster running computer.
Computer Security, Viruses and “Malware”
Many people have problems with computer security – in particular computer viruses and malicious programs (or “malware”) infecting their PC. In most cases it appears as an annoyance with redirection of web searches and nagging Internet pop-ups. In some cases, people may not even know their PC is infected and be unaware of the risks of having precious information and files stolen. In the vast majority of cases it is possible to completely eliminate viruses and malicious programs (malware) without resorting to wiping your computer and re-installing the operating system.
Can you afford to lose your precious photos, videos and documents?
When did you last backup your files? Can you afford to lose your photos, video clips and documents? Many home users rarely backup their precious data. The computer hard disks used to store data on your PC are mechanical, they can and do fail with potentially catastrophic data loss. Secondary external hard disks are very affordable – I can help you find the right solution to protect your valuable data by having a second copy of it on the external disk and help you organise an automated backup routine.
Home PC Tuition
Some people just want to be taught how to use their PC for everyday tasks such as sending e-mail and browsing the web – I offer home tuition for all aspects of PC software and hardware at your pace.
Software Installation Services
If you need some complex software installed, I can manage the process for you. If it is the computer operating system (such as Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7) which needs re-installing due to a PC not being able to start for example, I can also do that for you.
Data Transfer (your photos, videos, email and computer documents)
Have you got a new PC and need to transfer your files and settings from your old PC to the new one? I can help with the complete data transfer.
Lost files? You may need my Data Recovery service
In the event that you have a computer disk problem or have accidentally deleted some files and you do not have a backup elsewhere, I provide a data recovery service which in most cases will recover some or all of your files. Unfortunately, in some worse cases, some or all files can’t be recovered which is why having a backup of your important files is very important.

Remote Support
I can use software to remotely control your PC across the Internet, assuming your network connection is OK. This means I can help troubleshoot problems without having to visit your home. This work is done at a reduced hourly rate with no call-out charges.
